1.Definition and principle
Turning tool-feeding is a traditional metal processing process. On the lathe, the work piece rotates, and the tool moves linearly (tool-feeding) along the axial or radial direction of the work piece. Through the cutting action of the tool on the rotating work piece, the excess material is removed to obtain the desired part shape. For example, when processing a cylindrical shaft, the work piece rotates at high speed driven by the lathe chuck, and the turning tool moves along the length direction (axial tool-feeding) or diameter direction (radial tool-feeding) of the shaft, gradually processing the blank into a shaft that meets the dimensional accuracy requirements.
2.Product features
1) High-precision dimensions: It can achieve higher dimensional accuracy, and the general dimensional tolerance can be controlled between ±0.01mm - ±0.05mm. This depends on the accuracy of the machine tool, the quality of the tool, and the skill level of the operator. For example, small shaft parts in precision instruments have strict diameter tolerance requirements, and turning tool-feeding can well meet this precision requirement.
2) Good surface finish: Through appropriate cutting parameters (such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth) and tool selection, the surface roughness of parts can reach Ra0.8 - Ra1.6μm.
